CHP Deputy Bağcıoğlu Reveals 18 Legislative Proposals Pending in Parliamentary Committees

Onursal Adıgüzel, CHP Istanbul deputy and member of the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Commission, revealed that 18 legislative proposals remain pending within the relevant committees of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). He pointed out that some proposals quietly lose momentum during this waiting period and emphasized the need to expedite deliberations.

Highlighting that legislation typically requires passage through at least two parliamentary committees, Bağcıoğlu noted that most of these 18 proposals have yet to advance beyond committee stages. He stressed that delays in meetings and discussions diminish both the efficiency of the legislative process and the vitality of democratic governance.

Bağcıoğlu underscored the critical importance of swift, transparent parliamentary operations to meet public expectations and the nation’s needs. He advocated for the prioritization of public interest legislation and urged that these proposals be actively discussed and finalized within Parliament.

The deputy also criticized the delays as detrimental to timely implementation of economic and social reforms. He called on all political parties to foster cooperation and engage in rapid decision-making processes to revitalize parliamentary activity.
