Critical Supply Agreement Signed Between SSB and TUSAŞ for National Combat Aircraft KAAN

A significant milestone has been reached in Turkey’s indigenous defense projects with the signing of an essential supply contract between the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) concerning the National Combat Aircraft (KAAN).

The agreement covers the provision of critical systems required for the development and production of the KAAN fighter jet, which is being domestically designed and manufactured by TUSAŞ. This contract is crucial for accelerating production and ensuring adherence to the project’s delivery schedule.

KAAN represents a strategic effort to enhance Turkey’s defense capabilities with locally developed technologies. As a fifth-generation fighter jet, KAAN will incorporate advanced indigenous systems to significantly boost the country’s air power.

SSB President Haluk Görgün emphasized that this collaboration marks a pivotal point in Turkey’s aerospace and defense industry, contributing substantially to national strategic objectives. TUSAŞ CEO Mehmet Demircioğlu noted that the contract plays an essential role in advancing KAAN towards serial production.

Turkey’s commitment to developing and manufacturing indigenous defense products continues through concrete initiatives like the KAAN project. Besides fostering self-reliance, the supply agreement is expected to enhance the competitiveness of the Turkish defense industry on a global scale.
