Critical Timeline Set for KAAN: First Deliveries Scheduled Between 2027 and 2029

Turkey’s indigenous National Combat Aircraft project, KAAN, has reached a critical milestone with delivery timelines finalized. The project, conducted by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), aims to see first deliveries to the Turkish Armed Forces between 2027 and 2029.

KAAN is a fifth-generation fighter jet designed to secure Turkey’s air superiority and is of strategic importance for the nation’s defense industry. TUSAŞ CEO Mehmet Demircioğlu confirmed ongoing progress in the project, highlighting significant achievements in advanced technology integration. New prototypes are expected to start test flights this year, guiding the delivery schedule moving forward.

Expected to be equipped with cutting-edge radar systems, local weapons integration, and indigenous software, KAAN will offer a versatile platform capable of both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Its introduction into the Turkish Armed Forces inventory is anticipated to boost the nation’s defense capabilities.

This delivery timeline aligns with Turkey’s ambitions for defense self-reliance and represents an important step in building a robust indigenous defense ecosystem. As KAAN enters service, Turkey is expected to enhance its aerospace manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its position in the global defense market.
