Haluk Görgün Announces Start of Serial Production for GÖKBEY Helicopter

Turkey marks a significant milestone in its indigenous helicopter project with the announcement of the commencement of serial production for the GÖKBEY helicopter. Haluk Görgün, the Head of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), disclosed that production has now advanced to series manufacturing, signaling a major step forward in enhancing Turkey’s defense capabilities.

Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the GÖKBEY is a multi-role utility helicopter designed to perform a wide range of modern tasks. With the start of serial production, deliveries are expected to accelerate to the Turkish Armed Forces along with various public and private entities. Görgün highlighted the dedicated efforts of the project team and emphasized the importance of GÖKBEY as a valuable asset for both military and civilian use in Turkey.

The project’s focus on leveraging domestic resources and technology aligns with Turkey’s strategic goal to reduce reliance on foreign defense suppliers.
