Hürkuş-II, GÖKBEY, KIZILELMA and KAAN Debut at TEKNOFEST, Strengthening Turkey’s Defense
Turkey continues to make significant progress in its indigenous defense projects. At TEKNOFEST 2024, the Hürkuş-II light attack aircraft was officially inducted into the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, marking a milestone for national aviation capabilities.
The indigenous GÖKBEY helicopter and unmanned aerial vehicles KIZILELMA and KAAN also garnered attention at the festival. GÖKBEY’s operational and pilot training capacities are notable for both civil and military applications, while KIZILELMA represents a significant advancement in Turkey’s unmanned combat aircraft technology.
Notably, the National Combat Aircraft KAAN was exhibited to the public for the first time, exemplifying Turkey’s readiness for next-generation aerial combat with high-tech, locally developed systems. KAAN serves as a key asset for Turkey’s future air defense and technological sovereignty.
The efforts of institutions such as the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), TUSAŞ, Baykar, and other national defense companies have played a pivotal role in these projects, enhancing Turkey’s indigenous defense capabilities and technological independence.
