Massive 60,000-Ton Defense Base in Tokat to Support Hürjet, Kızılelma, and Anka Operations

One of Turkey’s major defense projects is taking shape in Tokat, involving the construction of a new base capable of handling 60,000 tons. This base will serve as the primary launch site for the indigenous jet Hürjet, the national combat unmanned aerial vehicle Kızılelma, and the UAV Anka.

The project excites the defense industry as it aims to provide crucial infrastructure for Turkey’s locally developed air platforms. Its strategic importance extends beyond Tokat, contributing significantly to the enhancement of Turkey’s national defense capabilities.

Hürjet is developed by TUSAŞ, while UAV projects like Kızılelma and Anka involve key players such as BAYKAR and TÜBİTAK SAGE. The operational efficiency of these platforms is expected to increase with the completion of this modern facility, further supporting Turkey’s indigenous production strategy.

This defense base in Tokat will strengthen Turkey’s regional defense capacity and provide crucial support for modernization projects. Once completed, it will significantly improve the logistical and maintenance infrastructure for Turkish Armed Forces’ air vehicles.

Local administrations and defense industry stakeholders highlight the project’s potential to boost the regional economy and foster collaborative development of technological infrastructure with local participants.
