Massive Defence Project in Tokat: New 60,000-Ton Capacity Base for Hürjet, Kızılelma, and Anka
One of Turkey’s most ambitious defense projects is being realized in Tokat, with plans to establish a massive base featuring a 60,000-ton capacity for the operations and takeoff of Hürjet, Kızılelma, and Anka unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This facility aims to enhance regional strategic power and maximize the use of indigenous defense technologies.
The planned base will be equipped with advanced technological infrastructure supporting the operational needs of Hürjet, a cutting-edge supersonic jet under development, alongside Kızılelma and Anka UAVs, which serve critical reconnaissance and strike roles. These platforms will be stationed at this base, facilitating both research and operational activities.
The project will also reinforce defense industry collaborations within the region and contribute economically on a local scale. Leading Turkish defense organizations, in coordination with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), will conduct R&D and testing programs at this site, highlighting Turkey’s commitment to domestic production and innovation.
Experts note that combining such a large-scale capacity with advanced technologies will notably increase Turkey’s air superiority and enhance its global defense capabilities. Furthermore, the completion of this base will expand the operational scope and effectiveness of national systems like Hürjet, Kızılelma, and Anka.
The investment in Tokat marks a new milestone in Turkey’s national and indigenous defense initiatives, with developments being closely monitored by industry and defense observers.
