MUGEM Aircraft Carrier Set for Delivery in 2032

The MUGEM (National Aircraft Carrier) project is a significant part of Turkey’s defense industry advancements. Recent updates from defense sources reveal the goal to complete and deliver the MUGEM to the Turkish Naval Forces by 2032.

This project aims to enhance Turkey’s maritime power by introducing a domestically produced aircraft carrier equipped with advanced electronic systems, integrating air platforms such as helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and indigenous weapon technologies.

Managed through collaboration between the Naval Command and the Presidency of Defense Industries, MUGEM signifies Turkey’s growing self-reliance in naval applications. Upon delivery, it will enable increased operational reach and air-supported maritime control capabilities for the Turkish Naval Forces in international waters.

Anticipated to reduce external dependencies, MUGEM also marks a strategic milestone for Turkey’s defense autonomy and regional influence. The project is expected to evolve with technological innovations, continuing to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities in the upcoming decades.
