SSB Chief Görgün Announces New Era Uniting KAAN, KIZILELMA, and ANKA-3 Projects

Turkey’s defense landscape is entering a new phase with the strategic unification of three cornerstone projects: KAAN, KIZILELMA, and ANKA-3, as announced by Haluk Görgün, head of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). This collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of each program, enhancing the operational capabilities and technological synergy within Turkey’s military aviation sector.

KAAN stands as Turkey’s indigenous national combat aircraft initiative, while KIZILELMA and ANKA-3 represent cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems. Görgün emphasized how aligning these programs through shared technical frameworks and interoperable software infrastructures will elevate Turkish defense capabilities to unprecedented levels.

The integration is poised to transform Turkey’s defense exports and international partnerships, capitalizing on KIZILELMA and ANKA-3’s proven combat performances, complemented by KAAN’s expected advancements. This move solidifies Turkey’s ambition to become a prominent global player in aerospace and defense technologies.

According to Görgün, the new era will reinforce public confidence and industry commitment to the national technology drive, further ensuring Turkey’s strategic autonomy in defense matters. Upcoming years are set to feature critical testing milestones and delivery phases that will mark this transition.
