STM Unveils Innovative MRSS Design for Malaysia Support Vessel Project

STM, a leading Turkish defense industry company, has developed a new design for a support vessel project intended for Malaysia. The innovative Multi-Role Support Ship (MRSS) concept emphasizes modularity, enabling the ship to perform a variety of missions in naval support roles.

The MRSS design allows for operational flexibility including logistics support, search and rescue, maritime patrol, and humanitarian assistance. STM engineers optimized the vessel to meet the specific strategic needs and local conditions of the Malaysian Navy.

According to STM officials, the MRSS design delivers high adaptability and resilience, and provides infrastructure compatible with integrated defense systems. The development prioritizes the use of Turkey’s domestic and indigenous technologies while aiming to strengthen ongoing bilateral cooperation with Malaysia.

This effort marks a significant milestone in Turkey’s defense exports strategy, aiming at expanding to new markets and enhancing international partnerships. Work continues towards sea trials of the MRSS prototype and its eventual delivery to Malaysia.
