TEI CEO Akşit Announces Delivery Timelines for KIZILELMA and GÖKBEY Projects
In a significant update on Turkey’s defense industry projects, TEI’s CEO Akın Akşit shared important details regarding the development and delivery of two key national defense platforms. The TF6000 engine, developed by TEI, is slated for delivery to Baykar in 2024, marking a critical phase in the progression of the KIZILELMA unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) project.
Additionally, Akşit confirmed that serial production of the GÖKBEY helicopter has commenced, with first deliveries planned within the same year. These indigenous helicopters, produced by TUSAŞ, are expected to become integral assets of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Highlighting TEI’s commitment to indigenous engine technologies, Akşit emphasized how these developments enhance Turkey’s defense capabilities. The KIZILELMA UCAV represents a major leap in national defense technology, with its collaborative production under Baykar aimed at strengthening the country’s aerial combat strength.
GÖKBEY stands out as one of Turkey’s first domestically designed and produced helicopters, anticipated to serve in various army and naval roles. Its serial production underlines the progress of Turkey’s self-sufficiency in critical military hardware.
TEI’s recent announcements reflect the rapid advancements and cooperative efforts within Turkey’s defense ecosystem, reinforcing the nation’s growing technological sovereignty and industrial capacity in defense manufacturing.
