TUSAŞ Signs €16 Million Deal Advancing HÜRJET Indigenous Jet Trainer

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has taken a significant step forward in the development of its indigenous jet trainer, HÜRJET, by signing a substantial contract valued at 16 million euros. This deal is aimed at enhancing the progress of the HÜRJET project and scaling up manufacturing capabilities.

The HÜRJET program represents Turkey’s first locally designed jet trainer and light attack aircraft intended to fulfill the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces. Designed for high performance, HÜRJET is set to play a crucial role in both pilot training and tactical missions. The newly signed contract supports accelerated development and rigorous testing phases, alongside advances in domestic production technologies.

This investment underscores the growing strength of Turkey’s defense industry, reinforcing its capacity to develop advanced aerospace technology indigenously. TUSAŞ’s ongoing commitment to domestic projects like HÜRJET strengthens Turkey’s competitive edge in defense aviation technology.

Industry experts emphasize that such investments contribute to prolonging Turkey’s footprint in the global defense market, expanding both its production potential and export opportunities in the coming years. This agreement highlights Turkey’s resolve to advance its national defense capabilities through innovative, homegrown solutions.
